Furnace Repair
We just had a very very cold snap arrive in Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville area. Because of the extreme cold weather the amount of no heat calls we received at our call center increased. As a result a quick customer checklist was implemented. This checklist was to help our customers check the basic things to get their heat turned back on. Saving time and money.
Here are a few of the items that you can check on our furnace system if your furnace stops working.
Thermostat batteries
If your thermostat batteries run low they will not have the energy to close the internal relay and do a call for heat to your furnace. However with new batteries your up and running.
Plugged furnace air filter
We all have busy lives and as a result sometimes we forget to check our filters. The recommended time interval to change your furnace filter is every 3 months. However this of course depends on things such as pets and overall cleanliness of your duct work. If your furnace filter is Plugged it will cause your furnace to shut down. After that this will result in a safety fault or simply blowing cold air from your furnace.
Venting
On two pipe systems one pipe is for exhaust and one is for fresh air intake. On snowy days if your air intake gets full of snow your heating system will not be able to turn on. This fault is avoidable by simply cleaning the snow from your air intake pipe at the outside of your home.
These are just 3 of our quick fixes. When its minus 20 outside and you need a repair fast. We recommend to check the above possible faults. If you still need a repair call us at 905-689-3777 and our staff will send a technician to your home quicker than you would expect.
In conclusion thank you for taking the time to read this blog.
